Distec to distribute AOPEN Digital Signage Solutions.

Distec, a retail computing specialist, has partnered with AOPEN to distribute its digital signage products. The U.K. company will distribute Aopen’s Chromebase and Chromebox series of commercial computers, along with other displays and media players, according to a press release.

The multi-touch Chromebase is designed for interactive displays or kiosks, and the Chromebox is a solid-state system that can connect to digital signage displays.

“As the use of digital technology in retail is relatively new, many retail managers find themselves uncertain about what devices they need to achieve their desired outcome,” Noel Sheppard, Distec director, said in the release. “Our insight and experience in industrial computing and digital signage technologies allows us to offer advice and consultancy to help retailers specify the right system, whether it’s an individual PC or a fleet of computers.”
