Distec and NexAIoT to Host Green Manufacturing Tech Day

January 2024: Specialist technology solutions provider Distec Ltd is hosting its Green Manufacturing Tech Day in partnership with NexAIoT, a global leader in industry 4.0 solutions. The event will highlight the importance of green manufacturing and how IoT can support sustainability efforts.

The UK government recently announced £4.5bn in funding for British manufacturing, including £960mn for a Green Industries Growth Accelerator to support clean energy manufacturing. The extra funding is to enable the UK to seize growth opportunities through the transition to net zero.

The NexAIoT Tech Day, which takes place on Tuesday, 19th March 2024 at the Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry, is the latest in a series of Tech Days hosted by NexAIoT and their global partners. The event will showcase the benefits of digital manufacturing and production traceability and include live demonstrations of innovative embedded solutions.

Andrew Byrne, Sales and Operations Manager at Distec Ltd, said: “Green manufacturing can redefine the industrial landscape and act as a catalyst for sustainability efforts moving forward. We have worked with NexAIoT for over ten years and share their commitment to developing sustainable solutions. It is a privilege to contribute to the UK market’s sustainability initiatives by showcasing NexAIoT’s innovative industrial and IoT solutions at the Green Manufacturing Tech Day, providing a fantastic opportunity for new and existing customers to learn more about their offering.”

NexAIoT will showcase several products at the event, including solutions for SCADA Visualisation, Data Acquisition, IIoT, Edge Computing and Industrial Computing, and delegates will have the opportunity to test some of their latest technologies. The day will also feature sessions exploring innovative embedded solutions and the latest trends and innovations in industrial IoT green manufacturing.

Jacob Huang, VP at NexAIoT, said: “To achieve the objectives of the Paris Agreement and reach net zero targets, the world needs to do more to reduce carbon emissions. There is an opportunity for the manufacturing sector to become a leader in the adoption of new technologies that promote sustainability. At NexAIoT, we have extensive experience delivering smart factory solutions in multiple sectors. Co-hosting the Green Manufacturing Tech Day with Distec is the ideal opportunity to showcase our range of smart solutions and demonstrate the positive impact they can have on the environment and customers’ sustainability objectives.”

Industry 4.0, the process of integrating intelligent digital technologies into manufacturing and industrial processes, is central to creating a sustainable future for manufacturing. Its use of smart technologies, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, is helping to enhance productivity, flexibility and agility.

Andrew finished: “Integrating eco-friendly solutions into current processes not only lessons the environmental impact, but also facilitates a shift to more efficient manufacturing and reduces the sector’s carbon footprint. It is our responsibility to address rising emissions and develop a sustainable future where economic growth and ecological well-being go hand-in-hand.”

The NexAIoT Tech Day is open to end users, system integrators and anyone looking to boost their sustainability efforts.
