Nexcom Fanless Visual Edge Computer for Border Control

Automated border solutions are more relevant than ever with growing populations, increasing migration issues and a global pandemic putting a squeeze on border controls. When travellers enter a country by plane, boat or train, their passage into their destination country can be sped up by implementing a digital identity verification process. eGates can be equipped with AI recognition and used with biometric verification via passport, facial, and fingerprint recognition for a seamless passenger experience.

Our partner Nexcom is committed to implementing the 12th Gen Intel® Core™ processor and Intel® 600 series chipset designed fanless visual edge computers into airports and ports. When installed, these systems can reduce labour costs and minimize contact while enhancing efficiency and security; promoting a fast flow of people through customs.

A Customisable Solution

Nexcom’s NDiS B561 fanless visual edge computer provides passengers with an intuitive process for going through customs.  The set up is customisable, and operators may request up to three HDMI ports for three 4k2k independent displays and eight USB 3.2 for cameras, fingerprint scanner, passport scanner, and other peripherals. The fanless, visual edge computer connects to the border control system via WAN, and so it can work over LAN, Wi-Fi 6E, 4G, or 5Gm using AI recognition technologies to validate passenger identity from the cameras and scanners.
