Takeaways from Integrated Systems Europe 2020

After Distec’s return from Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2020, we are delighted to report that the show was a great success both for Distec and the industry. The 2020 show featured the largest and most extensive line-up in the show’s history, including a full professional development programme supported by AVIXA and CEDIA offering a range of exciting training events and workshops.

ISE 2020 took place at RAI Amsterdam from 11th-14th February and is the world’s largest exhibition for AV and systems integration, with over 1300 exhibitors representing the world leaders of AV products, technologies and solutions, and more than 80,000 attendees from over 50 vertical market sectors. The 2020 show also saw the debut of more than 200 new exhibiting companies, spanning a wide range of technologies, markets and solutions.

Although not exhibiting this year, Distec attended in support of several of our key partners, including Advantech, Elo, Nexcom and AOPEN. Some of the show highlights included:

Keynote Address from Duncan Wardle

ISE 2020 featured a comprehensive range of keynote speakers, conferences, training sessions and workshops, offering the opportunity to learn from some of the industry’s most knowledgeable and inspirations leaders. The highlight of these was the Opening Address from Duncan Wardle, former long-time VP of Innovation and Creativity at Disney. Duncan’s interactive and high-energy presentation focused on paths to creativity and innovation, including how to incorporate playfulness, mindfulness, collaboration and curiosity into the everyday workplace to create a culture of innovation.

Product Launches

The show also featured several much-anticipated product launches, including Elo’s range of exciting new products and demos such as their award-winning 55-inch and 65-inch 4K interactive displays, whose sleek and durable design allow interactive applications, including signage, self-service, corporate collaboration, whiteboarding and huddle-room engagement.

Allsee Technologies also launched its revolutionary new 15” Rod-Powered Window Displays. These innovative displays use low voltage technology to supply power to the screens. No mains cable is required to provide power as these innovative screens are powered via the rods on which they are mounted. They also feature a high brightness 1,000cd/m² panel so they can be read in direct sunlight, enabling them to catch the attention of passers-by and potential customers.

A New Chapter for ISE

This was the last ISE show to take place in Amsterdam. Following the announcement of the show’s 2021 move to Barcelona and the new strategic partnership between ISE and The Next Web, who promise to bring a ‘tech festival vibe’ to the 2021 show edition, we look forward to this new chapter in the future of the ISE.
