This month, we are putting the spotlight on leading provider of industrial computing solutions Advantech, and their new HIT-512 medical grade information terminal.
What is it?
Advantech’s Healthcare Information Terminals are a series of patient-centered computers that enhance patient satisfaction and clinical productivity.
Advantech’s HIT series terminals are available in a wide range of sizes (10 ~ 21.5”) to enable flexible installation in a diverse range of environments. The rear I/O features dual isolated Ethernet ports to enable separate traffic for patient and clinical use for enhanced data security.
The Advantech HIT-512 series provides system integrators with a bedside terminal that can be easily integrated with nurse call systems for rapid solution development.
What does it offer?
The HIT-512 terminal’s compact design and support for VESA mounting makes it ideal for installation at the bedside. Patients can use the HIT-512 to request nurse assistance and manage the room environment. Healthcare staff can also use the terminals to access medical records and hospital information systems, retrieve laboratory results, monitor patient vital signs, and document treatment observations. All of which improves the quality of patient care provided at bedsides.
HIT-512 is equipped with multiple I/O ports to integrate additional peripherals according to usage requirements. This optimises the use of control panels on sophisticated medical equipment and eliminates the need to install extra modules or customize the design during manufacturing. Therefore, providing equipment builders with an easily integrated HMI for rapid solution development.
Other features in the HIT-512 include an Intel® Celeron® J3455 quad-core processor, support for an M.2 2230 Wi-Fi, Bluetooth modules, and M.2 2242 SSDs, an integrated handset with noise cancellation and dedicated audio codec, support for Windows 10 IoT (64 bit), Android 8.1, and Linux 18.04 and medical-grade safety certifications.
