US healthcare technology giant Howard Medical will be talking at the upcoming ‘Monitoring & Reducing Medication Errors in Hospitals National Conference 2019′. In addition to the talk, they will also be exhibiting their range of advanced medical carts with technology solutions provider Distec.
Eric Smolin, International Business Development Executive for Howard Medical will deliver a presentation, during the pre-conference supplier showcase, which will focus on transforming medication delivery and reducing medication errors with technology. He will be covering the impact medication errors can have on workflow, how the US market has been influenced by ePMA and how the NHS can also benefit from this in the run up to ‘Paperless 2020’
The presence at the summit follows Howard Medical’s exclusive partnership with Manchester-based Distec, which will see their advanced medical technology solutions, including their medical carts, available to the UK and Irish markets.
Eric Smolin said: “I am very excited to present our findings and solutions from the many projects we have been involved in within the United States to implement initiatives similar to the NHS’s initiatives of Paperless 2020, EPR and ePMA. Witnessing how these systems improve workflow efficiencies, reduce waste and improve patient safety is one of the highlights of my career.”
The conference will focus on reducing medication errors and resulting harm in hospitals in line with the WHO Medication without Harm programme. It will bring together clinicians, managers and medication officers to understand national developments, and key issues they face in improving medication safety for patients. The summit will be held on Monday 1st April 2019 at the De Vere West One 9-10 Portland Place, London, W1B 1PR.
