Exhibiting at this year’s Kiosk Summit London is Distec, showcasing products for advertising, kiosk and retail applications. The exhibition takes place at the Business Design Centre on 28th September 2017 and Distec will be exhibiting products supplied by its partners Elo Touch Solutions and AOPEN, from stand 17.
The digital signage specialist, Distec will be exhibiting a number of products that will demonstrate how retail stores can deploy their current responsive website in-store to create an endless aisle experience using touchscreen technology. These products will include AOPEN’s Chrome range of digital signage players and the I-series point-of-sale computers from Elo Touch Solutions.
The Chrome range of AOPEN digital signage players is powered by Google’s Chrome OS platform, making these commercial devices extremely easy to use and maintain. Chrome OS is a light operating system that requires fewer hardware resources than its Windows counterpart, making AOPEN’s Chrome range extremely cost effective. Each product offers flexible integration with peripherals such as scanners and touchscreen displays, making it perfect for kiosk and retail digital signage applications.
Used in combination with AOPEN’s Chrome range, Elo displays will also feature on Distec’s stand. The displays, which are part of Elo’s 90-series, feature a slim design, fitted with energy-saving LEDs to reduce power consumption and heat, thus enabling thinner and smaller kiosk designs. The touchscreen glass is built and tested to provide robust impact resistance by exceeding the UL60950 ball-drop and IK07 impact immunity requirements. The displays are also readily sealed against contaminants such as dust and liquid.
“We have recently seen a high demand for interactive kiosks for both retail and commercial environments,” explained Adrian Swindells, Director at Distec. “Whilst using kiosks for retail applications is not entirely a new concept, customer fluency with touch technology has grown massively, making kiosks an important part of the shopping process.”
Swindells continued: “At Distec, we use events such as the Kiosk Summit London to highlight the current societal trend for hands-on and self-service technology. We aim to educate business owners and managers on how to successfully adapt to this new shift, utilising the latest technology available for them.”
Kiosk Summit London brings all of the industry’s thought leaders together in one place and consists of education, networking and debate. It will provide an open forum for deployers, integrators and users of self-service technologies to be inspired by and learn from the best in the business.
